Hi, I’m I'Ceyonna, the Founder and President of East Texas Dreamers. As a proud East Texan and a first-generation student myself, I understand the challenges young adults face when transitioning from high school to higher education or the workforce.
My passion for supporting underrepresented students led me to create this organization, where we strive to empower individuals by providing essential resources and guidance. I believe that everyone deserves access to opportunities that can help them achieve their dreams.
When I’m not working on East Texas Dreamers, you can find me crocheting, playing the Sims 4, dancing, and spending time with my loved ones. I’m excited to connect with you and work together to create a brighter future for our youth!
Hello, I am Kayla Bunch, the current Vice President of East Texas Dreamers. Education has always been very important to my family. My grandma fostered a deep appreciation for education and its ability to make impactful change. When it came time for me to pursue college, I found the process challenging even with the guidance I received. Those experiences stayed with me and influenced my decision to join this organization. I wanted an opportunity to help guide students through these hurdles and empower them to make educated decisions about their futures.
Although I am the only cabinet member not from East Texas, I have learned a lot and have found an appreciation for the area. Being from San Diego, CA also means that I can offer a city perspective and aim to implement some of the resources available there to our East Texas Students.
When I am not working, I spend my time completing my master’s degree, hanging with friends and family as well as my cat, Rutabaga. I enjoy visiting museums and hosting craft nights with my friends.
Hi, I’m Jocelyn, a graduate of The University of Texas and a first-generation law student at the University of Houston Law Center. I became a member of this organization to encourage students from marginalized backgrounds to pursue future aspirations through higher education or vocational work.
Growing up in rural East Texas, I witnessed firsthand the disparities in educational and career opportunities for young adults in these communities. East Texas Dreamers is dedicated to addressing these challenges by fostering accessibility and providing mentorship to help individuals achieve their career goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, collecting vinyl records, and hanging out with friends and family. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with this organization and I look forward to contributing to the success of our participants!
