A Path Rooted in Excellence

Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College, Mergerson demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence and a deep passion for understanding human behavior. Now pursuing a Master of Science in Organizational Psychology at Southern Methodist University, she is expanding her expertise in workplace dynamics, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. Her goal is clear: to apply psychological principles that enhance employee performance, drive business success, and foster a positive workplace culture.

Bridging Education and Industry

While excelling in graduate school, Mergerson also works as a Manufacturing Training Specialist for Siemens, a global tech leader. In this role, she develops and implements training programs to enhance workforce skills, ensuring employees are equipped with the tools needed to succeed. Additionally, as the LMS MyLearning expert for her facility, she facilitates seamless access to learning resources, empowering employees to continue their professional development.

Beyond training, Mergerson actively contributes to workplace culture as the Community Outreach Chair for her facility’s Employee Engagement Team. Leading initiatives that strengthen corporate-community connections, she is dedicated to creating a more engaged and socially responsible work environment.

Overcoming Challenges and Expanding Horizons

Growing up in East Texas, Mergerson faced the challenge of limited exposure to opportunities beyond her immediate surroundings. Rather than allowing this to hold her back, she took control of her own learning—actively seeking information, networking, and stepping out of her comfort zone to broaden her horizons. “I quickly realized that the only limits I had were the ones I placed on myself,” she reflects. This mindset has propelled her to explore new experiences and embrace challenges that have shaped her journey.

Her advice to others? “Change is often uncomfortable, but trust yourself through the process. Don’t place limits on what you can achieve; your potential is far greater than you may realize. In moments of doubt, remind yourself of your purpose and why you started. And most importantly, celebrate every victory, no matter how small. Each step forward is a testament to your growth and resilience.”
